In order to cover the cost of the project we will be working on we need to raise a combined total of £5,740. However, due to the recent change that Trekforce has undergone, we have had to rethink the way in which we will go about raising the money.
Both of us have taken on temporary employment and plan to donate a considerable amount of money through simple hard work. However, raising the money completely by ourselves is unfortunately out of our reach. Because of this we are organising various ways to fundraise, and have also set up this website to raise awareness of the work being carried out in Belize, and to enable donations from all over the country.
Besides working we are amassing piles of unwanted games, books, videos etc. from friends’ and family’s lofts, and selling them at car boot sales around the Portsmouth & Southampton area. We are also looking into organising a live music event for later in the year, and a rock, paper, scissors tournament (or something equally as ridiculous).

CAR BOOT SALE! – The first car boot mission has been completed at Bridgemary School, where we raised a grand sum of… £45! Still…a few more of them and it should provide the bread-and-butter fundraising income that might amount to quite a rewarding sum. |

SPONSORED HEAD SHAVE – After 3 years of furiously growing his hair, “Al of the jungle” has decided to prove his commitment to the cause by having it all removed in return for sponsorship money! We will also hopefully be broadcasting it live over the internet…but we haven’t asked the website guy yet…
Thankfully being out in the jungle will also give that tan line a chance to fade… |

AWARENESS RAISING PARTY – Themed on a famous saying to do with organising drinkies in a brewhouse, this party will be aimed at raising the awareness of how vital conservation work within Central America is to all who attend. A small sum will be charged on the door, and snacks and drinks will be provided. This party is scheduled to coincide with Christmas, or Louise’s birthday, which is on December 21st.
Other activities and events, such as ebay auctions, coffee mornings and front yard sales to be announced here in the near future! |
